[AUTOHOME Official New Car Images] On August 18, official images of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class were released. The updated model comes with more recognizable design, intelligent technologies and better driving and handling performance.

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class integrates multiple design styles derived from the S-Class. It is equipped with the same illuminated grille as the S-Class, with star emblem headlights and taillights echoing each other at the front and rear to create an iconic light language. The intelligent digital headlight delivers more accurate and transparent illumination, effectively avoiding vision blind spots during night driving. When you open the door, the three-pointed star projected by the exterior rearview mirror illuminates the ground.

In terms of interior, the cockpit retains the consistent sporty and exquisite texture of the C-Class. The optimized and upgraded Burmester 3D surround sound system supports Dolby Atmos, is equipped with 15 speakers, and supports 10-level spatial effect adjustment in the "3D Sound Effect" menu, which greatly improves the sense of space and depth of the sound field. The all-new multifunctional steering wheel adopts physical controls such as levers and scroll wheels.

The new C-Class is built on Mercedes-Benz's self-developed MB.OS architecture, which promotes the simultaneous advancement of intelligent cockpit and assisted driving. For the Chinese market, it will also integrate the latest local intelligent R&D achievements, and remain updated throughout the usage cycle with continuously iterative OTA.

In terms of intelligent cockpit, the AI-powered Mercedes-Benz virtual assistant can carry out natural and smooth conversations with users, perceive users' emotional changes, and respond in a highly anthropomorphic and warm tone. For the Chinese market, the new C-Class integrates cutting-edge capabilities such as Doubao AI large model into the intelligent cockpit.

In terms of assisted driving, targeting the complex traffic environment in China, Mercedes-Benz has jointly developed a China-exclusive urban and highway navigation assisted driving system with Momenta, which has realized "available across the country". Based on the "human-machine co-driving" concept pioneered by Mercedes-Benz, it creates a reassuring experience up to Mercedes-Benz standards. When it goes on sale in China in the future, the new car will also be equipped with Momenta R7 "World Model", which enables the system to better understand physical laws, have better spatial perception ability, and undergo repeated training for dangerous scenarios, realizing the application of "physical AI" in vehicles and bringing seamless parking-to-parking driving assistance.

In terms of power, the new car is upgraded with the new 2.0T M 254 EVO four-cylinder gasoline engine, equipped with the second-generation intelligent motor system, which can provide a maximum additional power of 17 kW and additional torque of 205 N·m, offering timely assistance in the low speed range. The 48V electrical system supports coasting and energy recovery, delivering efficient and smooth power performance for both frequent start-stop urban commutes and long-distance cruises. The all-new electric auxiliary supercharger can build up boost rapidly within milliseconds, making starting and re-acceleration more brisk and direct.

The new car offers a total of three fuel power options: the C200 has a maximum power of 130 kW and a maximum torque of 270 N·m; the C250 has a maximum power of 160 kW and a maximum torque of 320 N·m; the C300 has a maximum power of 190 kW and a maximum torque of 400 N·m. The plug-in hybrid model C400e 4MATIC has a combined system power of 290 kW and a combined torque of 650 N·m, with a pure electric range of 100 km under WLTP conditions.

In terms of chassis, the new C-Class further improves handling agility, and carries out exclusive optimization for the suspension system, bringing a more enjoyable driving experience on winding roads while retaining excellent long-distance comfort. The front axle adopts a four-link structure, realizing more accurate wheel guidance and further improving dynamic handling performance; the rear axle adopts a five-link design, balancing wheel guidance quality and high-speed straight-line driving stability.
