[AUTOHOME News] Recently, we learned from official sources that the actual units of the Cadillac XT5 PHEV have arrived at dealerships. Positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, the model adopts a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5T engine and dual motors, with a WLTC pure electric range of 155km. Meanwhile, its assisted driving system will be equipped with the Momenta R7 World Model.
In terms of exterior design, the Cadillac XT5 PHEV generally retains the design style of the current fuel-powered model. It features the iconic shield-shaped front grille, which is embellished with mesh elements inside, paired with split headlight clusters on both sides, delivering strong visual recognizability. It is worth mentioning that the vehicle will also be equipped with a LiDAR on the roof.
The side of the body adopts traditional structural door handles, and is equipped with dense-spoke rims, matched with bright black window trim, presenting a fine sense of refinement. As for the rear, the T-shaped taillights on both sides are connected by chrome trim, paired with the rear spoiler above, which enhances the sporty vibe of the vehicle. Notably, the model cancels the dual-side dual-outlet exhaust layout and switches to a hidden exhaust layout instead. In terms of dimensions, the length, width and height of the new car are 4888/1957/1685 (1688) mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2863mm.
In terms of assisted driving, the Momenta R7 World Model differs from traditional assisted driving systems that focus more on identifying the road and obstacles ahead. The R7 further understands the physical properties of objects, the causal relationship of movements and the potential possibilities of interaction, and accordingly makes predictions and plans for vehicle speed, trajectory and avoidance strategies that are more consistent with physical laws, so as to cope with complex vehicle usage scenarios such as morning peak commuting, complex road conditions, parking, passing on narrow roads, trace reverse driving and more.
In terms of power, the vehicle will be equipped with a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system and an all-road electric Hummingbird chassis. The maximum power of the engine is 115kW, the maximum power of the front and rear dual motors is 160kW and 110kW respectively, matched with a 35.5kWh Ultium 5C ternary lithium battery, with a WLTC pure electric range of 155km and a comprehensive fuel consumption of 6.05L per 100km.
