[AUTOHOME News] On August 11, SAIC Volkswagen ID.ERA 5S kicked off pre-sale. A total of 4 variants of the new model are launched, with a pre-sale price ranging from 119,900 yuan to 149,900 yuan, and the limited-time preferential pre-sale price stands at 115,900 yuan to 145,900 yuan. This car is the first medium-sized plug-in hybrid sedan of the Volkswagen brand equipped with urban NOA function, and it is also the first sedan of Volkswagen brand worldwide with urban NOA capability.

In terms of appearance, SAIC Volkswagen ID.ERA 5S adopts a minimalist design concept. The front of the new car is equipped with a through-type daytime running light, the brand logo lights up simultaneously, and the split headlights are integrated with the front bumper.

In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 4836mm in length, 1880mm in width and 1505mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2766mm. Semi-hidden door handles are provided on the side of the car, matched with 19-inch multi-spoke rims.

The taillights echo the headlights, equipped with a through-type taillight and self-luminous logo, presenting a dynamic coupe posture as a whole. The roof is equipped with a panoramic starry sky canopy. The new car offers 5 body colors in total, namely Urban Gold, Fashion Cyan, Sky Gray, Avant-garde Black and Modern White. The whole vehicle has 15 aerodynamic optimizations, and the drag coefficient of the new car is only 0.247.

In terms of interior, two interior colors, Floating Light and Glimpse, are available, also following the minimalist design idea, which changes Volkswagen's previous design concept. The new car adopts a wraparound cockpit layout, equipped with through-type air conditioning vents, and through-type ambient lights are set in the center console and door areas, which can rhythm with music. There are no physical buttons on the center console, which is equipped with a 15.6-inch 2.5K suspended instrument screen. The entire series is equipped with an oversized central control screen as standard, supporting CarPlay, HiCar and Carlink interconnection. The AI voice system is jointly developed with iFLYTEK, and the car is equipped with a black or two-color steering wheel. With maternal and infant-grade seat material, the co-pilot seat can be reclined to 145 degrees to realize the lie-flat mode. The new car also provides 50W wireless charging and 6-speaker audio.

In terms of intelligent driving, the new car is equipped with the "Xingyun Zhixing" high-level intelligent assisted driving system, which has functions including high-speed NOA, urban NOA, automatic parking, valet parking, remote control parking, trace reverse driving, and cross-floor memory parking. It is deeply customized and developed based on Horizon HSD algorithm, creating Volkswagen's exclusive one-stage end-to-end large model, with flexible detour, decisive lane change and smooth vehicle control, supporting AEB at a maximum speed of 140km/h. The GAIA 2.0 world model can effectively handle situations such as pedestrians dashing out suddenly, temporary road construction and severe weather.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with a 1.5L super hybrid dedicated engine + motor plug-in hybrid system. The maximum power of the engine is 80kW, and the peak power of the motor is 130kW. The CLTC pure electric range is 160km, the comprehensive range exceeds 2000km, the CLTC power-loss fuel consumption is 2.82L/100km, it takes 15 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%, and it supports 3.5kW external discharge.
