Recently, the ultra-luxury brand Bentley has released the latest teaser materials for its brand-new all-electric crossover model Torcal, showcasing the rear cabin design to the public for the first time, and officially unveiling the brand-exclusive Curation Engine core cabin system, which breaks the conventional logic of traditional vehicles that only adjust driving attributes via driving modes.

Dubbed the "Mood Selector" by Bentley, this system is developed based on sensory neuroscience, gains full access to in-cabin lighting, audio, airflow, air quality and digital display modules, and can work in tandem to create four completely independent cabin atmospheres to meet the emotional needs of drivers and passengers in different travel scenarios.

The four preset modes each have clear functional orientation: the default Bentley Mode focuses on warm-toned dynamic balance, it adopts light orange ambient lighting, strikes a balance between comfort and driving engagement, and is completely centered on the driver's experience. The Comfort Mode focuses on low-interference relaxation, the system will dim or even partially turn off interior light sources, and activate the "Digital Disconnection" function at the same time to limit the density of information pushed on the central control screen, minimizing the visual burden of drivers and passengers to the greatest extent.

The Sport Mode is fully oriented to enhancing handling perception, the system will activate high-brightness lighting with dynamic animation effects, paired with exclusive immersive audio, to make every operation feedback more direct and greatly improve the fun of long-distance driving. The final Refresh Mode is specially designed for fatigue problems in long-distance travel, the system will brighten the overall cabin lighting, increase the supply efficiency of fresh air to create a fresh and energizing cabin environment, effectively improving the driver's attention state.

This teaser also discloses a large number of previously undisclosed interior details: apart from the already unveiled curved central control screen, the new car is also equipped with circular air conditioning vents embedded with carbon fiber trim strips, a full wood-covered central console surface, and knurled physical control buttons.

The first-exposed rear cabin adopts a two-color splicing design, with a fabric combination of top-grade genuine leather and micro-suede material. Black door handles with hidden B-shaped logos can be seen at the details, paired with a Naim brand audio system with geometric patterned bronze grilles, fully highlighting its luxury attributes.

In terms of power, the Torcal is built on the PPE platform, developed on the same platform as the Porsche Cayenne EV. The Bentley version is expected to have a maximum power of about 597kW, and the official has confirmed that it can realize a fast charging performance of adding 161km of range in 7 minutes.

For reference, the name Torcal comes from a natural landmark, it is derived from the Torcal Natural Reserve in Andalusia, Spain, which boasts magnificent limestone landforms. The word Torcal also originates from the Latin word "torquere", meaning "to twist", which is also the etymology of the modern English word "torque". Therefore, Torcal also implies the meaning of "moving forward calmly". More information about the Bentley Torcal will be announced successively in the coming weeks.

Previously, spy shots of this model have been exposed online. Built on the PPE platform, the new car is positioned below the Bentayga, focuses on urban positioning, and is expected to have a price range of about 200,000 to 250,000 US dollars (1.36 million to 1.7 million RMB). We will continue to follow up for more information about Bentley. (Compiled by Yue Changxing, AUTOHOME )
