Recently, spy shots of the production version of the BMW M3 EV have been exposed. The new car is a pure electric performance vehicle built on BMW's Neue Klasse platform, and will make its debut in 2027. The overall silhouette of the new model is highly similar to that of the BMW i3, and its M Sport package is very eye-catching. BMW officially confirmed that this car will not be named i3 M, but directly named M3 EV, in order to convey to consumers that it is an "authentic M3".

In terms of appearance, the new car is equipped with a uniquely shaped front bumper, large air intakes paired with prominent front lip components, and flared enclosure areas on both sides. In addition, the new car is also fitted with a vented hood, lightweight sports rims, and a high-performance braking system with bronze calipers. The suspension has also been specially lowered for sporty tuning. A small ducktail spoiler is added to the rear, the rear diffuser is reserved with multiple sets of air guide grooves, and reflective units are installed on both sides of the rear bumper.

For the interior, clear images have not been captured in the current spy shots yet. Referring to the configuration of the i3 on the same platform, the new car is expected to be equipped with the panoramic iDrive system, a 17.9-inch central control screen, as well as M-exclusive configurations such as an M-specific sports steering wheel and bucket sports seats.

In terms of power, the all-new M3 EV will be equipped with a four-motor four-wheel drive system. BMW officials said that this architecture will push the driving experience and track performance to a whole new level. At present, the official has not announced accurate parameters, and rumors say that its maximum power ranges from 515kW to 735kW, and its performance exceeds the 588kW output of the AMG all-electric C-Class in the same segment.
