[AUTOHOME News] On August 3, we learned from official sources that SAIC Volkswagen has released the teaser images of the first all-electric model of the ID.ERA series - the ID.ERA 5X. The vehicle is expected to be positioned as a mid-size SUV, equipped with a brand-new LiDAR and fitted with the Xingyun intelligent assisted driving system.

According to the officially released teaser images, the front face of the vehicle still follows the ID.ERA family design language, is equipped with a through-type light strip, and the Volkswagen logo is located in the center. The side of the body overall presents a sporty slightly fastback shape, and a spoiler is installed on the top of the rear. The overall rear is also expected to continue the family design, adopting a simple and grand styling as well as through-type taillight clusters.

There is no specific official information on the power performance yet, and the official only stated that the new car will be the first all-electric model of the ID.ERA family. For reference, the ID.ERA 9X in the current family is positioned as a full-size SUV, equipped with a range-extended power system, which was officially launched earlier with a price range of RMB 309,800 to 359,800. As a mid-size sedan, the ID.ERA 5S is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system and is expected to be officially launched in the third quarter. The ID.ERA 8X, which has previously been filed with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, is positioned as a mid-to-large SUV and is also equipped with a range-extended power system.
