Although the test car is covered with heavy camouflage, it can still be seen that the design style of the new car has been greatly adjusted. It abandons the rounded, streamlined curved surface design of the current model as a whole, and instead adopts a more upright and tougher straight line layout. The new car even adopts a floating roof, following the boxy styling route. At the detail level, it is confirmed that the new car adopts a split light group design, with center-mounted headlights arranged at the edges on both sides of the wide grille, matched with eye-catching horizontal trim strips, and a central sensor installation position is reserved below the front bumper.
On the side of the body, it is equipped with sporty 18-inch two-tone wheels, the waistline is straighter, the angle of the A-pillar is sharper, and the outward expansion size of the wheel arches has also been significantly increased. The rear of the car is almost completely covered by camouflage at present, only the lowered license plate installation position can be seen. It also adopts a split taillight design, the main light group is retained in the conventional position, and the turn signal is suspected to be arranged above the bumper. It is temporarily uncertain whether this layout is the final plan for the mass production version.
In terms of interior, the spy shots reveal that the new car will be equipped with the Pleos Connect in-vehicle infotainment system, offering multiple size options of 12.9 inches, 14.6 inches and 17 inches. At the same time, it is expected to be equipped with a full LCD digital instrument cluster as standard, and the layout of physical buttons will also be greatly simplified, following a simple and practical design route.
In terms of power, the all-new Sportage is expected to share the powertrain with the all-new Hyundai Tucson, with hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions added.
