[AutoHome News] Recently, we learned from official sources that the Dongfeng eπ M8 will be launched on July 23. The new model has opened pre-sales previously, with the pre-sale price starting at RMB 199,800. Jointly developed by Dongfeng eπ and Huawei Qiankun, the vehicle is positioned as a mid-to-large six-seat SUV, equipped with Huawei Qiankun six-piece intelligent solution as standard for the entire series, and offers two power versions: range-extended and pure electric.



In terms of exterior design, the Dongfeng eπ M8 adopts a minimalist design language as a whole. The front fascia is fitted with a closed grille, a signature of new energy vehicles, paired with a full-width LED light strip. The vehicle provides five body color options: Rosy Purple, Indigo Blue, Frost White, Moon Silver and Obsidian Black. For details, the new model is equipped with semi-hidden door handles, which effectively reduce wind resistance, and supports optional 21-inch semi-closed disc wheels. As for body dimensions, the new model measures 5020mm in length, 1975mm in width and 1733mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3025mm.


In terms of interior, the center console of the vehicle adopts a stepped layered design, equipped with a 50-inch oversized HUD head-up display and a 16.1-inch 3K high-definition Huawei smart large screen, and is loaded with HarmonySpace 5.2 system, supporting multi-screen intelligent linkage. The entire vehicle is equipped with a high-end HUAWEI SOUND audio system with 21 speakers. The interior is available in three color schemes: Apricot White, Dawn Orange and Ink Brown.




The second row of the vehicle is equipped with independent first-class aviation seats, which support 20-way electric adjustment, and integrate comfort functions such as heating, ventilation, 10-point physiotherapy massage, and electric leg rest. Meanwhile, the second row is fitted with a 17.3-inch 3K high-definition rear soft-close screen, matched with an 8.8L dual-door two-way intelligent cooling and heating box inside the vehicle. The assisted driving system of the new model is built based on the WEWA 2.0 architecture, and is equipped with the in-cabin laser vision Limera hardware solution. In terms of functions, it supports full-link NCA intelligent assisted driving, autonomous parking after getting off the vehicle, remote parking, trace back reversing, 540-degree transparent chassis, and non-inductive code scanning parking payment on the head unit, etc.

In terms of power, the new model provides two sets of solutions: pure electric and range-extended. Among them, the pure electric model is built on an 800V high-voltage platform, equipped with a 230kW drive motor, matched with CATL batteries, and has a CLTC range of 600km; the range-extended version is equipped with a 1.5T range extender + drive motor, the maximum power of the range extender is 95kW, the peak power of the drive motor is 215kW, and the CLTC pure electric range is 300km.
