[Auto Home New Car Debut] On September 7, we learned from official sources that Audi has officially released its all-new compact electric vehicle, the Audi A2 e-tron. As Audi's entry-level pure electric model, the new car will be put into production at the brand's headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany. Pre-orders for the new model will open on September 10, with deliveries starting in December; it has a starting price of 38,200 euros in the German market (approximately RMB 298,000).

In terms of appearance, the fastback design of the new car pays tribute to the first-generation A2 launched in 1999. It features a relatively high body shape, sharp angular lines, short front and rear overhangs, and the trunk tailgate adopts the same split window design as the first-generation model. The Audi A2 e-tron is designed in line with the principles of efficient space utilization and daily usability, with a wheelbase of 2.77 meters. Audi has also invested heavily in aerodynamics R&D, and the vehicle's drag coefficient can be as low as 0.24 when equipped with optional kits.

The front face of the vehicle can be optionally equipped with adaptive matrix LED headlight clusters, which can selectively block light for vehicles ahead while keeping the rest of the road fully illuminated to achieve optimal night visibility. Meanwhile, the vehicle's light clusters also support daytime running light interaction function, which can realize different digital signatures. In addition, the new car also provides three sizes of alloy wheels for choice: 18-inch, 19-inch and 20-inch.

The vehicle's interior will come standard with an 11.9-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch central control screen. High-end models are equipped with a head-up display system and adopt the "Audi Connect" infotainment system. In terms of comfort configurations, it offers heated steering wheel, front seat heating/memory functions. For the audio system, the vehicle provides 7-speaker, 8-speaker and 15-speaker Sonos premium audio systems with a maximum power of 660 watts, and the speakers near the C-pillar create a surround sound experience. In terms of safety configurations, the new car provides adaptive cruise control, front and rear emergency braking assist and many other functions.

In terms of space, the Audi A2 e-tron has a trunk volume of 396 liters, which can be expanded to 1,336 liters after the rear seats are folded down. The entire interior is covered with soft materials, and the soft fabric trim extends from the dashboard to the doors and then to the rear row, creating a comfortable cabin atmosphere. The new car can also be optionally equipped with a 1.6-square-meter panoramic glass roof, which brings sufficient lighting to the cabin, and its special coating can also block ultraviolet rays.

The Audi A2 e-tron is also equipped with the Fidlock magnetic buckle system, which realizes smart storage and modular storage solutions, and accessories such as cup holders can be firmly fixed with one click. The vehicle also adopts a new concept in material application: depending on different configurations, the whole vehicle has more than 300 parts made of recycled materials, including steel, aluminum and plastic.

In terms of power, the new car adopts a rear-mounted single motor and will be available in four power versions, with maximum power of 125kW, 140kW, 170kW and 240kW respectively. Except that the top-trim model has a peak torque of 545N·m, all other models have a peak torque of 350N·m. The vehicle's battery pack is available in three versions: 50kWh, 58kWh and 79kWh, with a maximum range of 646km under WLTC cycle.

In terms of energy replenishment, the 84kWh battery of the vehicle supports a maximum fast charging power of 183kW, and it takes 29 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% capacity. The 52kWh battery has a maximum charging power of 100kW, taking 24 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% capacity; the 61kWh battery has a maximum charging power of 105kW, taking 25 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% capacity.
