In terms of pricing, the optional package of this special edition in the US market is only 80 US dollars higher than that of the similarly configured Wrangler Willys. In terms of exterior, the new model adopts an exclusive blacked-out style, inspired by the foggy mountain and forest environment of the Great Smoky Mountains. The front end is equipped with a glossy black seven-slot grille, and the hood has an exclusive Smoky Mountain themed decal. It comes standard with 17-inch smoked black wheels matched with 33-inch all-terrain tires, and is also equipped with black tow hooks, steel rock sliders, body-colored wheel arches and body-colored hardtop. The hardtop is removable, retaining the classic convertible attribute of the Wrangler. The whole set of exterior kits combines off-road practicality and dark style, and the official provides multiple body color options.
The off-road hardware continues the hardcore foundation of the Willys version. The model is equipped with Dana 44 front and rear axles, 4.10 final drive ratio, rear differential lock as standard, along with standard tow hooks. The hardware is adapted for mountain, stream and rock sections to meet the crossing demands on unpaved roads.
The interior also has a large number of exclusive custom details. The overall cockpit is dominated by black tone, the seats are made of Black Ferndale fabric matched with Black Soulmate side wings, the middle part of the seats has a diamond steel plate style texture, and the backrest is printed with the 1941 Willys parachute pattern. The interior adopts terracotta contrast stitching, matched with bright metal orange accents, Addax process textured instrument panel and anodized carbon fiber trim rings.
The exclusive badge on the gear shifter engraved with a mother bear and a cub pattern is quite recognizable; there is also an exclusive nameplate at the side opening tailgate, depicting the pattern of the 1941 Willys airborne into the Great Smoky Mountains at night. In terms of comfort configurations, front seat heating, steering wheel heating, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, universal garage door opener and 12.3-inch Uconnect infotainment system are all standard, which is more friendly to low-temperature scenarios in high-altitude mountainous areas.
In terms of power, this special edition is only provided with an 8-speed automatic transmission, no manual version is available. Consumers can choose two powertrains: a 2.0T turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 270 horsepower and a peak torque of 400 N·m, or a 3.6L Pentastar V6 naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 285 horsepower and a peak torque of 352 N·m.
