Editor's Comments
In the 300,000-yuan new energy hard-core off-road track, the arrival of BAIC Off-Road Taitan 700 has further intensified the competition intensity of this market segment. Comparing horizontally with models such as Zongheng G700 and Tank 500 New Energy, the three models follow completely different product routes. The Zongheng G700 is oriented towards hardcore cross-country, with stronger power reserve and full set of off-road hardware, targeting heavy-duty outdoor exploration users, and prioritizes extreme off-road capability. Relying on mature brand accumulation, Tank 500 New Energy adheres to the concept of traditional luxury hard-core off-road vehicles, and balances urban family use and off-road driving through two power systems of Hi4-T and Hi4-Z.
The Taitan 700 continues the off-road chassis heritage of BAIC Off-Road, takes range extender power as the foundation, gives higher weight to intelligence and cabin luxury experience, adopts 896-line dual optical path image-grade LiDAR, and provides Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 Max assisted driving system, pursuing the full-scenario balance of urban commuting, family long-distance travel and off-road driving. Nowadays, new energy hard-core off-road vehicles are no longer toys for a small number of players. The market no longer simply competes on the number of locks and paper parameters, but turns to the comprehensive competition of scenarios, intelligence and comfort. Whether the Taitan 700 can break through depends on the feedback of market reputation. For consumers, there are more diversified choices for hard-core SUVs. (Text / AutoHome Yao Yu)
