[AutoHome Official New Car Images] Recently, Mercedes-Maybach officially unveiled the 2027 Maybach GLS 680, which is positioned as the brand's top full-size luxury SUV. The model debuted simultaneously at the first Manufaktur Customization Center in the United States. The new vehicle has received comprehensive upgrades in exterior lighting, interior comfort configurations, powertrain and chassis system. Overseas deliveries are expected to start successively by the end of 2026, with an estimated starting price of over 200,000 US dollars. The vehicle is produced at the Tuscaloosa Plant in the United States.

In terms of exterior, the new model uses a large number of exclusive lighting and chrome kits to enhance identity recognition. The front face is equipped with Maybach's exclusive vertical-slatted grille, which is surrounded by an illuminated light strip and embedded with a lightable MAYBACH letter logo inside. The three-pointed star hood ornament on the engine hood can be optionally equipped with lighting function. Rose gold decorative parts are added inside the headlight assembly, the air intakes on both sides are covered with chrome-plated double-M patterns, and the front bumper has been redesigned simultaneously. The rear is fitted with a brand-new tailgate, and chrome star emblems are added inside the taillights, bringing stronger visual layering.

Two wheel specifications are provided: 22-inch 20-spoke alloy rims are standard, and 23-inch forged rims are optional. The center of the rim is equipped with a universal bearing structure, so that the three-pointed star logo remains upright all the time during driving. New Manufaktur custom series body colors are added, including Dark Petrol, Patagonia Red metallic paint, as well as the exclusive Dark Petrol/Silver Verde two-tone body. Customization items also include a 20-piece hand-stitched leather headliner. The vehicle is equipped with electric anodized welcome pedals as standard, which automatically extend and light up when the door is opened, projecting Maybach's exclusive welcome light carpet at night. The doors support soft-close, and the pedals retract simultaneously.

The interior cabin focuses on extreme quietness and multi-dimensional comfort configurations. The center console adopts an integrated 12.3-inch dual-screen setup, the frame of the instrument area uses rose gold trim, and the interface background integrates gold, rose gold and black textures. The leather seats of the whole vehicle have upgraded massage function: the front seats are newly added with vibration massage, and the massage range of the rear seats is extended to the leg rests, further improving long-distance ride comfort.

A vehicle-mounted refrigerator is optional for the rear row. The audio system is equipped with a 710W Burmester Dolby Atmos surround sound system as standard, with two more speakers than the old model. Sound insulation materials are added to the engine compartment and chassis of the vehicle to isolate external road noise and wind noise. The whole series is equipped with a multi-stage air purification system, fitted with an ion generator and high-efficiency filter element, which can filter dust and external pollutants.

In terms of intelligence, the new vehicle is equipped with the latest generation of MBUX infotainment system, which supports customized application interfaces and natural voice virtual assistant. The vehicle's perception hardware includes 10 cameras, 5 radars and 12 ultrasonic sensors, providing a full set of high-level driving assistance. Two 11.6-inch full HD entertainment screens are optional for the rear row, with built-in cameras, supporting audio and video playback and online video conference functions.

The powertrain is the core of this upgrade. The new vehicle is equipped with a 4.0T twin-turbo V8 engine + 48V mild hybrid ISG starter generator, matched with a 9-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive system, with a comprehensive maximum power of 603 horsepower. A balance shaft is newly added to the engine to suppress operating vibration and optimize operating smoothness. The 48V mild hybrid system can realize coasting, energy recovery and senseless start-stop, taking both power output and driving quality into account.

The chassis is equipped with standard AIRMATIC air suspension, fitted with a predictive damping control system, which can scan the road surface in advance and adjust the damping in real time. The steering mechanism adopts a more direct gear ratio, leading to more sensitive steering response. The vehicle provides an off-road mode, and the suspension can adjust the body height to improve the passability on unpaved roads. (Compiled by Li Na, AutoHome)
