[AUTOHOME New Car Launch] On September 23, we learned from the official Denza brand that its mid-to-large sedan, the Denza Z9S, has been officially launched. A total of 3 configuration versions are available, with a price range of 255,800 to 325,800 yuan. Its body size is more compact than that of the Denza Z9. ● New Car Features
In terms of appearance, the new car continues the "Elegant Stance" design language. The double star crown headlight design, paired with the uniquely shaped air intake below, exudes a strong sporty vibe. Meanwhile, multiple raised ribs on the front hood enhance the muscular feel of the vehicle. The front end adopts a brand-new split headlight design: the upper part is a double-stripe LED light cluster, while the main headlight clusters are vertically arranged on both sides of the front bumper. The front bumper features a through-type panel design and a two-stage front lip, giving it a good sense of sportiness. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with a 120L front trunk, which appropriately improves the storage space performance of the car.
The Denza Z9S is equipped with a LiDAR module on the roof and the God's Eye 5.0 advanced driver-assistance system, which supports City Navigation On Autopilot (CNOA) and Highway Navigation On Autopilot (HNOA). It also comes with Automatic Emergency Steering (AES), Emergency Steering Assist (ESA), improved Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) performance, and acceleration pedal misapplication prevention, among other functions. At the same time, the brand-new UI of the DiLink smart cockpit can display high-precision SR rendering, covering the recognition of various obstacles such as pedestrians, two-wheeled non-motor vehicles, three-wheeled non-motor vehicles, bicycles, sedans, trucks and buses. On the basis of the original instrument display, SR rendering on the central control screen is newly added, which can be adjusted to one-third, seven-tenths or full-screen display according to needs.
On the side of the body, the Denza Z9S maintains the dynamic posture of a coupe, and is equipped with a new style of hidden door handles, glossy black window trim, etc. It offers four optional wheel designs: 19-inch/20-inch starburst rims, 20-inch wind-chasing rims, and 20-inch shining rims. In addition, the side of the body is also equipped with a welcome light carpet, with patterns projected on the areas on both sides of the car, creating a sense of welcome ceremony.
At the rear, the vehicle adopts a narrow and long taillight cluster, with the Denza brand LOGO in the center, and is equipped with an active electric spoiler, giving it a good sporty feel. In terms of dimensions, the length, width and height of the new car are 5090/1980/1490mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 3025mm. In terms of color matching, the new car offers 7 optional exterior colors: Dawn Purple, Fjord Green, Soft Sand Gray, Starry Black, Frost Jade Silver, Midnight Blue, and Turquoise Cyan.
In terms of interior, the vehicle adopts a wraparound cockpit design, equipped with a 17.3-inch floating central control screen, a 13.2-inch full LCD instrument cluster, a 50-inch HUD head-up display, 128-color interior ambient lighting, 50W wireless charging for front-row mobile phones, etc., which meets the current users' demand for configurations. In terms of interior materials, the new car adopts Nappa leather seats, suede headliner for the whole vehicle, fine metal buttons and brushed metal speaker grilles, which appropriately enhances the sense of refinement of the vehicle.
The magnetic front passenger panel is conveniently connected via magnetic attraction and has strong expandability. It can magnetically attach various items such as a PAD, headphones, refrigerator magnets, glasses cases and even photos, making the connection smooth and natural, and bringing greater convenience of use and decorative fun. The second row of the vehicle is equipped with a 7-inch rear armrest screen, which can conveniently control the air conditioner, sunshade, music, rear seats, ambient lighting system and so on. In addition, the whole vehicle also provides 44 storage spaces and a 470L expandable trunk.
In terms of safety, the Denza Z9S adopts a five-star standard steel-aluminum hybrid body material, uses CTB (Cell to Body) battery-body integration technology, a ten-horizontal and eleven-vertical body layout, and a cage-type body made of high-strength hot-formed steel. The proportion of high-strength steel and aluminum alloy reaches 91.1%, and the torsional rigidity of the whole vehicle is 45036N·m/deg. In terms of power, the Denza Z9S will offer a rear-mounted single-motor version and a three-motor four-wheel drive version. The maximum power of the single-motor version is 370kW, and the comprehensive power of the three-motor four-wheel drive version is 890kW. At the same time, the new car will also be equipped with BYD's second-generation Blade Battery, with a battery capacity of 102.326kWh. The CLTC cruising range can reach 780km, 920km and 1100km, and the 0-100km/h acceleration time can be as fast as 2.68 seconds.
In addition, the Denza Z9S is also equipped with the e⁴ Platform technology. Rear-wheel steering is standard across the entire lineup, with a minimum turning radius of 4.75m (for the top trim level). It supports ±5° split rear-wheel steering, crab walk mode, tank turn, Drift Master 2.0 and other functions. At the same time, the new car will also be equipped with the DiSus-A intelligent air body control system.

Relying on its product positioning as a pure electric mid-to-large car, coupled with a body length of over 5 meters, a wheelbase of 3025mm and a high-performance three-motor four-wheel drive architecture, the Denza Z9S has had a clear goal since its debut: it directly enters the currently most popular pure electric coupe segment, directly targeting models such as the Zeekr 001, Avatr 12 and Qijing GT7. Unlike the shooting brake body structure that the Zeekr 001 and Qijing GT7 focus on, the Denza Z9S adopts a classic three-box coupe posture, which balances sporty appearance and cargo practicality, accurately catering to the current young consumer groups' demand for personalized vehicles and rejection of homogenization.
At the same time, it will also compete with models such as the Xiaomi SU7 and Shangjie Z7.
