[AUTOHOME Official New Car Images] Recently, the official images of the Ferrari 296 GT Modificata have been officially released. This is a limited-edition racing car built exclusively for the track, designed for track days and events of the Ferrari GT Racing Club program. Owners who purchase the Ferrari 296 GT Modificata will be eligible to participate in the events for a period of two years (or a total of 12 rounds).

The vehicle is upgraded based on the Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo racing car. It features a slotted splitter at the front of the body, a large-sized vent on the front hood, dedicated guide vanes, and auxiliary air intakes on both sides of the lower bumper for brake cooling, among other components. Meanwhile, the rear of the car is equipped with a rear spoiler with a central mount, whose design is inspired by the Ferrari 499P. The vehicle will be fitted with 325/680 R18 tires at the front and 325/705 R18 tires at the rear.

The interior adopts a two-seat layout with bucket seats and is equipped with a roll cage. The passenger seat is fitted with an exclusive rest pedal and an integrated intercom system to facilitate real-time communication between the driver and the passenger. In addition, the vehicle is also equipped with a more comprehensive data acquisition system (such as a pitot tube for measuring air flow velocity, shock absorber potentiometers and brake temperature sensors), an on-board camera system (to record the driving process), a rear-view camera, and an infrared tire pressure and tire temperature monitoring system.

In terms of power, it is still equipped with a 2992cc mid-rear mounted 120° V6 engine. The R&D team has optimized and upgraded the crankshaft, camshaft, intake piping, intercooler and turbocharger, increasing its maximum power output to 537kW. The powertrain is mated to a 6-speed sequential gearbox with a carbon fiber clutch. (Text / Guo Chen, AUTOHOME)
